Telugu MPs get LS, RS adjourned
Hyderabad: The continued protests of Telugu MPs saw both Houses of Parliament being adjourned on Tuesday too without transacting any business. As soon as Lok Sabha started, members of TD, YSRC and TRS trooped into the well with placards and raised the slogans. TD MPs demanded implementation of assurances given at the time of state bifurcation, while YSRC members sought special status for AP. Members of TRS demanded enhancement of reservations. Speaker Sumitra Mahajan was forced to adjourn the House for the day. In Rajya Sabha too, Telugu MPs stalled proceedings. Earlier, TD members staged a dharna at Gandhi statue on the Parliament premises. TD member Galla Jayadev’s son Galla Siddhartha also participated in the protest along with other party MPs.
