Expelled MLAs begin 48-hour hunger strike
Telangana Congress is on a path of war over the expulsion of two MLAs and suspension of MLAs and MLCs.
Expelled Congress MLAs Komatireddy Venkata Reddy and S.A. Sampath Kumar have started a 48 hours hunger strike on Tuesday evening at the party headquarters in Gandhi Bhavan, against the TRS government, for expelling them from the House.
TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Opposition leader K. Jana Reddy, leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Mohmmad Ali Shabbir and other MLAs, MLCs extended their solidarity to Mr Komatireddy and Mr Sampath Kumar.
Meanwhile, Telangana Youth Congress leaders burnt Telangana State Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in effigy at Nampally main road, protesting against the expulsion of the two Congress MLAs.
TPCC has decided to hold public meetings in the name of ‘Save Democracy’. Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy said a public meetings will be held on March 20 at Nalgonda and on March 22 and 23 at Alampur.
He gave a call to the party cadre to conduct protests across the state in the name of “KCR ko Hatavo- Telangana ko bachavo”. He told the party cadre to conduct protests in every district and mandal headquarters. WAR ON SOCIAL
MEDIA: The Telangana Congress has started a war on social media also. The Congress had posted a video on Facebook relating to KCR’s speech in the Assembly on Tuesday at the time of the Congress MLAs suspension. Telangana Congress claimed that Mr KCR himself accepted that Legislative Council Chairman Swamy Goud’s injury on eye is a drama enacted by them. The Congress, in its post, said that KCR said in the Assembly that if the Congress MLAs behave decently in the House, there is no need for them to play a drama (Natakam)”.
