This is the second such incident in the district. A week ago, Manda Mallaiah died after he came into contact with a high tension electric cable hanging very low. While this happened in CM Chandrasekhar Rao’s constituency Gajwel, the latest case occurred in Siddipet which is represented by irrigation minister Harish Rao. Komuraiah, a resident of Tadkapalli village in Siddipet mandal, owned a two-acre field located 3 km from his house. He used to got to his farm on foot everyday. On Tuesday, as he set out for his field, a low tension neutral cable of 240 volts had snapped from the pole and lay in a field. Komuraiah did not notice the cable lying on the ground and stepped on it.He received a jolt and severed burns and died on the spot. Other farmers who were walking on the same path later noticed the body and the burn marks and alerted the police and the electricity department officials. A case was registered and the body was handed over to the family after an autopsy.
