KCR REITERATES URGENT NEED FOR FEDERAL FRONT

It is to unite all sections of people, work for development of the country

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday reiterated the urgent need for setting up a federal front in the country against the Congress and the BJP and said he would play a crucial role in forging it.

The ‘people’s front’ was “unification of people of India and not a coalition of parties”, he added.

“My idea and vision for the federal front is not bringing two or three political parties together and for politics. My aim is unite all sections of people in all the states and work for the development of the country with a common agenda. I want to set up a people’s front,” Mr Rao said.

The Congress and BJP governments at the Centre had failed miserably over the last 70 years resulting in the country and its citizens facing severe hardships.

“Look at China, Japan, Malaysia or Singapore. They are nothing before India in terms of human, natural or financial resources. But where do they stand now and where does India stand? They made tremendous progress but we could not. This is because of flawed policies of the BJP and Congress governments during the past 70 years,” Mr Rao asserted.

He cautioned that there would be a threat to national integrity if the present situation continued longer.

“Already, there are arguments of North-South discrimination in allotment of funds by the Centre. This is not good for the country or national integration. I don’t support such arguments but this may lead to a dangerous situation, if rectification measures are not taken,” he added.

Mr Rao expressed confidence in successfully forging the front.

“When I started Telangana statehood movement in 2001, everyone laughed and mocked at me saying that when no one could achieve Telangana state in the past five decades, how could KCR achieve that? But today Telangana is a reality. With the same spirit, I will make efforts to forge the Federal Front and I am confident that I will emerge victorious again,” he added.
