HC asks CP to decide on nod to Srirama Ratha Yatra
to direct the Telangana police to permit Srirama Ratha Yatra. The Hyderabad High Court on Friday said that it will hear the case on March 27.
Mr. Harinath, counsel for the petitioner, told the court that they will file a fresh application to take out the Ratha Yatra only in twin cities and urged the court to direct the city police to give it permission.
The bench told the petitioner to file an application as per the guidelines of the Supreme Court, and asked the commissioner to take decision on the application of the petitione. A 50-year-old shopkeeper sexually harassed an eight-year-old girl who came to his shop in Rajendranagar to buy a pen. The incident is being investigated by the Rajendranagar Police.
According to the police, the girl, a student of a private school in Upperpally, went to a shop in her locality to buy a pen, at around 9.15 pm on Wednesday. Seeing that she was unaccompanied, Aziz, the shopkeeper, invited her into the shop and began touching her inappropriately.
The girl immediately ran out of the shop shouting for help. Passers-by came to her rescue, caught Aziz, and alerted the police. The police rushed to the spot and detained Aziz for questioning.
Based on a complaint filed by the girl’s parents, a case of sexual harassment has been registered against Aziz under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. G. Suresh, the Inspector of Rajendranagar, said that the police were questioning Aziz.
