TRS cheated people: Oppn

Opposition parties on Friday criticised the TRS government for allegedly misleading people about the actual financial situation of the state.

Congress Legislatur­e Party deputy leader and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy said that the CAG has exposed the TRS government’s mismanagem­ent of state finances.

He said the CAG report proved that the Telangana is a poor state and not a rich state as claimed by Chief Minister K. Chandrasek­har Rao.

He demanded the government to take action on officials those who violated the financial rules.

Telangana BJP president and MLA K Laxman said that the the TRS government is pushing the state into a debt trap and the CAG has exposed the TRS government’s inefficien­cy.

He alleged that the TRS government has tabled the the CAG report on the last day of the Assembly session to ensure that the House did not get an opportunit­y to discuss it.

He said that the TRS government has shown the funds mobilised from various institutio­ns as assets. He alleged that the TRS government’s only aim is to only get votes and not on developmen­t and welfare of the state. TD MLA R. Krishnaiah said the TRS government has made a surplus state as a debt-ridden state.

He said the state government has borrowed indiscrimi­nately and burdened the people. He said that the Assembly Budget session was not held according to the Constituti­on.
