UoH ANNOUNCES ADMISSIONS

- DC CORRESPONDENT

The admission process of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) for the academic year 2018-19 commences on April 5. 38 centres across the country have been identified for entrance exams to be conducted from June 1 to June 5. However, exams may not be conducted at those centres that receive less than 300 applications.

There are 1,945 seats available across 117 courses. This includes 15 integrated courses, 42 PG courses, 13 M.Phil courses, six M.Tech courses and 41 PhD programmes.

UoH received 43,837 applications for admission in 2016-17, and a record 58,200 applications in 2017-18.

Professor Appa Rao Podile, the Vice Chancellor of UoH, said, “UoH is a favourite destination among students wishing to pursue higher education in the country. This has been proven by the whopping number of applications received for admission to various courses in the years 2016-17 and 2017-18.”

He says that the UoH has bid for the status of Institution of Eminence (IoE), an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, and that it is among the 20 institutions shortlisted for the purpose. 10 of the 20 institutions will be named IoEs. On April 2, representatives of UoH made a presentation to the Empowered Committee constituted for the selection of IoEs.

“We constantly strive to improve the standard of education offered by us. For the year 2018-19, we invite online application forms from April 5 to May 5 for the entrance examinations and admissions to various courses,” Mr Podile said.
