Man held for forging land papers, kingpin absconds
The Rachakonda police bust a forged documents racket involving land worth `14 crore spread over 1,000 square yards in Saroornagar. One person, the grandson of the original owner, was arrested in the case.
The racket kingpin Mubarak Ali Khan had forged documents of four plots which were owned by his ancestors but sold off to the ancestors of the complainant. Claiming to be the owner of the land, Mubarak Khan made a GPA in the name of the arrested person identified as Gajula Krishna, a tea vendor, and was planning to sell the land through him. Mubarak Khan and Krishna’s wife Vinoda are absconding.
The market price of land in the area is about `1 lakh a square yard. DCP LB Nagar M. Venkateswar Rao said that forged documents pertaining to three plots and fake notary sale deeds were seized from his possession.
“The suspects even produced the forged documents in the court claiming possession of the land and tried to mislead the court,” the DCP said.
Krishna and his wife ran a tea stall at Kothapet crossroad and came into contact with Mubarak Khan whose ancestors owned a land parcel at Gaddiannaram. Four plots from the land, which were sold off by his ancestors to different persons, were recently purchased by complainant Bhanuprasad’s mother. They built a house on one of the plots while the other three plots lay vacant. Taking advantage of the land plots remaining vacant, Mubarak Khan planned to encroach them with the help of Krishna and his wife.
He fabricated agreement papers that claimed that the vacant plots were in his possession.
He later made a sale deed in the name of Krishna and his wife and later made a GPA on their names. Claiming this as original documents, Krishna tried to take over the plots, which was resisted by Bhanuprasad who lodged a complaint. Krishna was booked and convicted in the case.
When he tried to encroach on the plots a second time using the same forged documents, another case was registered against him. Krishna had also filed a civil suit in the court claiming ownership and produced forged documents to support it. He was arrested and sent in remand on Saturday.
