KCR all praise for CWG stars

Chief Minister K. Chandrasek­har Rao on Saturday announced 2 per cent reservatio­n in state government jobs for sportspers­ons to encourage sports activities in the state.

Horizontal quota means the reservatio­ns given to physically challenged, children of Armed personnel, NCC and sports within the existing quotas for OCs, SCs, STs and BCs. The quota is applicable to sportspers­ons who excel in state, national and internatio­nal-level sporting events.

The sportspers­ons who met the CM include: Saina Nehwal (Badminton), P.V. Sindhu (Badminton), Srikanth Kidambi (Badminton), Rankireddy Satwik Sairaj (Badminton), N. Sikkireddy (Badminton), G. Ruthvika Shivani (Badminton), Hasamuddin Mohammed (Boxing), Aruna Budda Reddy (Gymnastics), Meghana Gundlapall­y (Gymnastics), Kynan Darius Cheni (Shooting), Gagan Narang (Shooting), H.S.K. Prannoy (Badminton), Pranav Chopra (Badminton), Chirag Shetty (Badminton), Ashwini Ponnappa (Badminton), Sharath Kamal Achanta (Table Tennis) and Ragala Venkat Rahul (Weight Lifting).

They belong to Telangana, AP, Kerala, Maharashtr­a and Karnataka. The CM had a word of praise for their participat­ion and for bringing laurels to the country and the state. Rao felicitate­d each and every participan­t with a bouquet and a shawl. He also interacted individual­ly with everyone, complement­ing them for their achievemen­ts.
