Medicine-laden lorry catches fire

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed among residents surrounding the Ghatkesar area when a massive fire broke out in a lorry laden with medicines, surgical spirits and tablets in the wee hours of Tuesday at Ghatkesar Outer ring road near toll gate. The lorry was on its way from Medchal to Vijayawada to deliver the medicines. While driving, the lorry driver smelt something burning. He immediately abandoned the vehicle and informed the toll gate personnel.” The official said that the fire was believed to have started due to a chemical reaction between the medicines and the loss was about `31 lakh. He also confirmed that no casualties were reported in the surroundings.
