BJP: DIDN’T SAY FARMERS BOOZE

■ Rythu Bandhu alone will not solve woes

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Former Union minister and BJP MP Bandaru Dattatreya clarified that his party leaders did not say that farmers are using the investment subsidy for liquor.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Mr Dattatreya said the Rythu Bandhu scheme alone will not solve all problems of farmers.

If farmers are provided bonus for their crops that will be more useful to them.

He suggested that the state government extend the Rythu Bandhu scheme to tenant farmers also.

Mr Dattatreya said that in Andhra Pradesh the Telugu Desam is a sinking boat. He said the attack on BJP national president Amit Shah at Tirupati was not proper and demanded that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TD national president N. Chandrababu Naidu tender an apology for this incident.

He condemned the statement given by AP’s director general of police that there was no attack on Mr Shah.

Mr Dattatreya said he was 100 per cent sure the BJP would come to power in Karnataka.

He alleged that the Congress has followed communal policies in the election campaign and that AICC president Rahul Gandhi has tried to provoke people in sensitive areas.

He said the outcome of the Karnataka Assembly elections will have an effect on southern states and in TS and AP Pradesh too the BJP would triumph because people want a corruption free administration.
