Nation inspired by TS: KCR
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday said the Telangana state model of development and welfare schemes was inspiring the rest of the nation. The state had become a destination for officials and elected representatives from other states to study its model and replicate its schemes and programmes.
The TS government is the only one to implement 40 welfare schemes by spending over `40,000 crore per year for the welfare of the poor and the downtrodden, the Chief Minister said.
Addressing the Telangana State Formation Day celebrations at Parade Grounds, Mr Rao cited Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project, 24x7 free power supply to agriculture, Rythu Bandhu, sheep distribution, KCR Kits for pregnant women, 2BHK houses for poor, hundreds of residential schools, colleges for BCs, SCs, STs, minorities, Haritha Haram, TS-iPASS, T-Hub, SHE teams.
These initiatives had become a role model for all other states, the Chief Minister said.

The government earns over `70,000 crore through taxes, of which `40,000 crore is spent on welfare schemes. “The Telangana state government in the past four years has taken effective steps which have begun yielding results. Our achievements so far are a matter of pride for the people of Telangana,” Mr Rao said.
“During the 14-year statehood struggle, we understood the difficulties faced by the people, the reasons that resulted in hardships for people in undivided AP. It is with this clear understanding that we wrote our manifesto and won in the 2014 elections,” Mr Rao said.
“From the moment the government was formed, we have been implementing the promises we made in our manifesto and introduced many programmes resulting in widespread public good and welfare. I consider our achievements so far a validation of our struggle for a separate state,” he said.
Mr Rao promised even better days ahead. “Our philosophy is based on the principle of creating wealth and spending it for the development of the state and the welfare of the people. We have proved this by achieving a 21 per cent economic growth rate. This wealth must be used to improve the lives of the people and empower them financially. This is the principle that we have been following for the past four years,” Mr Rao said.
