2 ECO-TOURISM PROJECTS PROPOSED IN TS

Hyderabad, June 3: Telangana State Forest Developmen­t Corporatio­n has proposed two eco-tourism projects in Mancherial and Nalgonda districts, its Chairman Banda Narender Reddy said.

“Six acres of land has been acquired near the Godavari river for new eco-tourism project at Chintaguda village of Mancherial district in the vicinity of Kawal Tiger Reserve and tender has been called for best architectu­ral proposals for the developmen­t of project and facility,” Mr Reddy said.

The second eco-tourism project is proposed on the back waters of Nagarjuna Sagar at Vizag Colony in Nalgonda, he said adding a total of 15 acres of land is in advance stages of acquiring and detailed project report is being prepared.

TSFDC has already developed four eco-tourism projects around Hyderabad city.

TSFDC during the year 201718 achieved an all-time highest productivi­ty in harvesting of Eucalyptus Clonal plantation.

The per hectare yield has gone up from 44.92 MT in 201213 to 87 MT in 2017-18, he said.

The corporatio­n achieved a revenue target of `9.06 crore during last year by sale of long bamboo, its Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Chandan Mitra said.

He further said a proposal for setting up bamboo lumber industry with an investment of `22.4 crore is under process.
