CSE remains fav pick after ECE 96,703 qualified in Eamcet engineering

Computer Science Engineering (CSE) continued to be the most sought-after course with 94 per cent seats filled in the first phase of Eamcet engineering counselling, followed Electrical and Communication Engineering (ECE).

The results were released by Eamcet convener Navin Mittal at the end of the first phase of counselling.

Against 17,130 seats available, 48,208 students opted for CSE. Of these, 16,141 seats were allotted and 989 seats are left vacant. For the 12,915 seats in ECE, 41,367 candidates had applied.

In all, 81 colleges from 14 universities and 67 private colleges received 100 per cent admissions. One college received zero admissions, two had single digit admissions. Another 20 colleges received less than 20 students and 45 colleges received less 100.

A total of 96,703 candidates qualified in the Eamcet engineering stream of which 59,033 took part in the certificate verification process. As many as 58,048 candidates exercised a total of 28,96,317 options. Against the 67,325 seats available, 52,774 were allotted.

This left 14,551 seats vacant among which 12,325 seats are for engineering, 2,109 for BPharma and 117 for Pharm D. Another 5,274 candidates had given options but did not get seats.

Candidates have to download the allotment order and pay the fees online. Students have to report at the allotted college after the second phase of counselling.

Candidates can verify status of self reporting/payment details in student’s login. If the candidate cancels the provisionally allotted seat before the second phase of counselling the full tuition fee will be refunded.

Candidates who were allotted seats in first phase of counselling are also eligible to participate in next round of counselling for change of college or branch, if desired.
