IITS, GENDER RATIO

Increasing the number of seats for girls will not improve the gender ratio in IITs. Statistics reveal that the number of female students in IITs is fluctuating over the past three years. One of the main reasons for this is that parents are worried about the safety of their kids. Unless there is trust among parents that their children will be safe even if they are far away, there cannot be significant improvement in the ratio.
