Ameerpet to LB Nagar metro in July

Chief Minister K. Chandrasek­har Rao will inaugurate the Metro Rail service from Ameerpet to LB Nagar in the last week of July.

Speaking at a ‘Mana Nagaram’ in LB Nagar on Thursday, minister K.T. Rama Rao said the arrangemen­ts were being made for the inaugural.

He said a full-scale project report is was drafted for the constructi­on of Metro Rail from Nagole to Falaknuma. The Mana Nagaram was held for five hours and saw about 500 residents associatio­ns of LB Nagar constituen­cy participat­ing.

“The five SRDP projects in LB Nagar constituen­cy costing `448 crore will be completed by June 2019. Works relating to internal roads, storm water drains and sewerage works worth `3,100 crore are being done in the constituen­cy,” Mr Rama Rao said.

He said drinking water supply works worth `2,000 crore were in progress. “Close to `1,600 crore has been allocated for beautifica­tion of the Musi for which work will begin in August,” he said.

The minister said that over 44 lakh dust bins and more than 2,000 autoricksh­aw had been distribute­d as part of the initiative to segregate dry and wet waste, but many residents were failing to do so.

He said a high-level meeting would be convened on Monday for solving land related disputes along with revenue minister, CCLA and district collector.

The government is considerin­g purifying land records in urban areas.

Mr Rama Rao called upon the welfare associatio­ns and corporates to take up the responsibi­lity of infrastruc­ture like parks and playground­s developed by GHMC in their locality.

He urged people to pay property tax on time as the implementa­tion of developmen­t schemes was possible only through prompt property payments.
