Ameer­pet to LB Na­gar metro in July

Chief Min­is­ter K. Chan­drasekhar Rao will in­au­gu­rate the Metro Rail ser­vice from Ameer­pet to LB Na­gar in the last week of July.

Speak­ing at a ‘Mana Na­garam’ in LB Na­gar on Thursday, min­is­ter K.T. Rama Rao said the ar­range­ments were be­ing made for the in­au­gu­ral.

He said a full-scale pro­ject re­port is was drafted for the con­struc­tion of Metro Rail from Nagole to Falaknuma. The Mana Na­garam was held for five hours and saw about 500 res­i­dents as­so­ci­a­tions of LB Na­gar con­stituency par­tic­i­pat­ing.

“The five SRDP projects in LB Na­gar con­stituency cost­ing `448 crore will be com­pleted by June 2019. Works re­lat­ing to in­ter­nal roads, storm wa­ter drains and sew­er­age works worth `3,100 crore are be­ing done in the con­stituency,” Mr Rama Rao said.

He said drink­ing wa­ter sup­ply works worth `2,000 crore were in progress. “Close to `1,600 crore has been al­lo­cated for beau­ti­fi­ca­tion of the Musi for which work will be­gin in Au­gust,” he said.

The min­is­ter said that over 44 lakh dust bins and more than 2,000 au­torick­shaw had been dis­trib­uted as part of the ini­tia­tive to seg­re­gate dry and wet waste, but many res­i­dents were fail­ing to do so.

He said a high-level meet­ing would be con­vened on Monday for solv­ing land related dis­putes along with rev­enue min­is­ter, CCLA and dis­trict col­lec­tor.

The gov­ern­ment is con­sid­er­ing pu­ri­fy­ing land records in ur­ban ar­eas.

Mr Rama Rao called upon the wel­fare as­so­ci­a­tions and cor­po­rates to take up the re­spon­si­bil­ity of in­fra­struc­ture like parks and play­grounds de­vel­oped by GHMC in their lo­cal­ity.

He urged peo­ple to pay prop­erty tax on time as the im­ple­men­ta­tion of development schemes was pos­si­ble only through prompt prop­erty pay­ments.
