Fresh al­le­ga­tions against tainted S-I

An ad­vo­cate from Me­hdi­pat­nam has levied al­le­ga­tions against the tainted Hu­mayun­na­gar sub-in­spec­tor Ch. Srikanth, who was trapped by the An­ti­Cor­rup­tion Bureau on Wednesday.

The ad­vo­cate Yasser Arafat said that he had ap­proached the sub-in­spec­tor af­ter two per­sons al­legedly duped him of `5 lakh af­ter tak­ing it as an ad­vance for a land par­cel in the city out­skirts.

“I vis­ited the po­lice sta­tion sev­eral times and was guided to Srikanth. The SI did not reg­is­ter any case against those who duped me and was dilly-dal­ly­ing the case. Se­nior po­lice of­fi­cials were of lit­tle help,” said Mr Arafat.

The ad­vo­cate told that the S-I had seized his mo­bile and kept it with him for about a month. “There are sev­eral cases reg­is­tered against the per­sons who duped me in sev­eral po­lice sta­tions. Only Srikanth, did not reg­is­ter any case de­spite me com­plain­ing,” he added.

Hu­mayun­na­gar in­spec­tor N.L.N. Raju said that a case was reg­is­tered and per­mis­sion is be­ing sought from the court. “A case un­der Sec­tion 506 of IPC was reg­is­tered and chargesheet is yet to be filed in the case,” he said.
