Parents disapproved of relationship

A second year polytechnic student committed suicide by jumping off the fourth floor of her hostel in Musheerabad in front of her parents.

Mohammed Sana’s parents had come there to pick her up and take her back home after learning about her alleged love affair with a boy.

The 16-year-old girl was rushed to Gandhi Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Sana was a polytechnic student of Government Domestic Science Training College and is suspected to have been depressed over her parents disapproval of her love affair.

According to the Musheerabad police, her parents had come over to her hostel from Peddapalli district in the morning and had asked her to return home.

“On Wednesday morning at 6 am, her family came down to talk to her and asked her to quit and shift back home as they disapproved of her relationship,” said T. Srinath Reddy, Musheerabad police inspector.

“A depressed Sana impulsively went to the terrace on the fourth floor and jumped from there. The dumbstruck parents rushed her to Gandhi Hospital. But, she succumbed to her injuries,” Mr Reddy said, adding that the boy is also a student from Godavarikhani.

Based on a complaint from her father, Md Ghouse, a complaint was lodged with the police under Section 174 (suspicious death) of CrPC and the body was shifted for post mortem examination.
