Pak weather info on inflatable pool Lahore rain toll touches 15

-

Lahore, July 5: In order to show on live television how heavily flooded the roads in Lahore were after a heavy rainfall, a news anchor stepped into an inflatable pool for children.

The reporter presented his entire news report regarding the rain in Lahore from within the confines of a pink floating pool, surrounded by several other floats.

Laced with sarcasm and understated frustration, the Dunya news reporter took jabs at the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) of Lahore.

“I am not in a swimming pool, but in the middle of the road which is flooded with water, as are other parts of the city,” he started his report. “I’m present here and quite enjoying myself.” He pointed out how the efforts by WASA have been unsuccessful and are likely to remain so. Lahore got its heaviest rainfall in 38 years flooding its streets and low-lying areas. The NDMA said several lowlying areas were inundated by the rains as water logging at different areas of Punjab was reported.

Possibly the nearest competition to the reporter came from the reporter of a Telugu news channel Mahaa News, who lay down in a bathtub while holding forth on actor Sridevi’s tragic death in Dubai.
