START-UP CONCLAVE ON AUG. 30, 31
Rural innovators, start-ups and funding agencies, as well as students from schools and colleges, will get an opportunity to leverage each others’ strengths for bringing into the fray, sustainable solutions for rural development at the second Rural Innovators Start-up Conclave to be held in Hyderabad on August 30 and 31 this year.
Being hosted by the National Institute for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, the conclave was instituted with the aim of identifying rural innovations and startups, creating a platform for their exposure, education and capacity building, mentoring and incubation, and creating opportunities to connect national and international networks.
The themes of the conclave are agriculture and allied activities, green energy, and waste to wealth, sustainable housing, health and elderly care, drinking water and sanitation, and sustainable livelihood.
The institute will also give away a ‘Best Innovator’ award and a ‘Best Startup’ award under each of these categories, and invites applications from Indian and international residents, and from start-ups no older than five years with an annual turnover not exceeding `50 lakhs.
A fellowship of `1.2 lakh and ` 2.4 lakh will be provided to innovators and start-ups respectively. The institute will also play a key role in connecting innovators with appropriate institutions and investors.
