Court grants stay on flyover constructi­on

In a set back to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporatio­n (GHMC), the Hyderabad High Court has granted stay on the constructi­on of Flyover Bridge at Bio Diversity Park in Gachibowli area of the city.

Justice M.S. Ramachandr­a Rao, while dealing with a petition by M/s. Asian Global Infra Pvt. Ltd challengin­g the action of the authoritie­s in passing award for compensati­on without hearing their objection for acquiring their 1,310 sq. yards at Gachibowli for road widening, granted the interim stay.

The petitioner submitted that it had 2,515 sq. yards of open land at Gachibowli and when they wanted to exploit the said plot by constructi­ng a commercial complex, the GHMC refused to accept the applicatio­n without

THE COURT had directed the collector to consider petitioner’s objections.

citing any reason and meanwhile the land acquisitio­n officer issued notice under Section 4 of the Land Acquisitio­n Act 2013 proposing to acquire petitioner’s land for widening the road to 65 metres.

Earlier, the High Court has directed the district collector to consider the objections of the petitioner as the land has been acquired from one side of the road.

The company told the court that when they submitted their objections, the collector rejected it and issued proceeding­s for the land acquisitio­n.
