Congress raps TRS over ‘chaotic’ roads

- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD JULY 18

Contrary to the claims of transforming Hyderabad into another Dallas or Istanbul by the Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, our roads are known for bonerattling ride giving nightmare to citizens as they’re full of potholes, criticised TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.

He further found fault with the TRS government for taking credit for the development of the city which was actually the contribution of Congress government.

“The state government is arresting our leaders for protesting against the poor conditions of city roads. If current chaotic situation continues, the days are not far off when public will revolt against the state government. KCR is ruling the state like a dictator and his dictatorship can’t sustain in democracy. Whatever development took place in Hyderabad was happened during Congress regime only,” Mr Reddy said.

Commuters in the city are already facing numerous problems such as traffic congestion, air pollution, etc, he said. “Now, the rainy season is adding further to woes of citizens, whose lives are at risk due to negligence of the government. Yes there’re well maintained roads in the city, but in front of CM’s residence only,” adds Mr Reddy.

The potholes are death traps during rains. Waterfilled pits have become danger spots for commuters during night riding, said Opposition Leader of Telangana Legislative Council Mr Shabbir Ali. He highlighted the present conditions of city roads by narrating an incident of pregnant woman delivering in an auto.
