Oracle displeased over arrangements

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Goddess Mahankali, speaking through Rangam Swarnalatha has expressed her displeasure at the arrangements and restrictions made by the TRS government for the Bonalu celebrations at the Ujjaini Mahankali temple, following complaints by women devotees about the bandobast.

There was apprehension before the Rangam began that the goddess was not pleased with the arrangements this time.

Head priest Ramakrishna Sharma asked the goddess how she felt about the bangaru bonum. The oracle replied that she had just got back what she owns. She said that, she was unhappy with the bangaru bonam as the devotees who came to the temple this year were not happy.

The oracle was asked why she was dissatisfied when such grand arrangements had been made. The Rangom replied: “It's not just the grandeur that appears outside, go and see the difficulties that people are facing. My children (the devotees) are not happy with your arrangements this year. You might be thinking you are doing good to the devotees, but you are not.”

To a question about Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao presenting the bangaru bonam, the Rangam said, “Not just one, but everybody is my child. I want each and every one to be happy. People’s happiness makes me happier than the gold that you offer.”

She ordered that arrangements should be made in such a way that devotees go home happily from the temple next year. Even though the arrangements troubled people, she said she would ensure that she would take the responsibility to make people happy.

About the state’s future, the oracle predicted bountiful rain in the coming days and good agricultural yield.
