‘Sexual predator’ at MP shelter abused 4 inmates

A preliminar­y investigat­ion by police into the alleged rape of a speech and hearing impaired girl in a shelter home here by its director has led to disclosure that the “sexual predator” had outraged modesty of total four inmates of the women hostel.

“The fourth victim of the sexual predator, the director of the shelter home Ashwin Sharma has surfaced. She has been identified. We have talked to her parents. She is going to file a FIR in connection with the incident in a day or two”, counselor of the deaf and mute help desk, the one of its kind opened by Madhya Pradesh police at Tukoganj in district headquarte­rs town of Indore, said on Friday.

The 19-year-old speech and hearing impaired girl, who filed a FIR in the police station in Dhar in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday alleging rape by the director of the shelter home at Bhopal when she was staying there to complete her course in the local Industrial Training Institute (ITI), told the police that another inmate of the hostel had also fallen victim to the sexual predator.

Following her disclosure, police located the fourth victim and contacted her parents.

She was coming to Dhar to file a formal complaint, police sources said. New Delhi, Aug. 10: A class two student of a New Delhi Municipal Council school was allegedly raped by an electricia­n in the institute’s premises, police said on Friday.

Following the incident, the Delhi Commission For Women and the National Human Rights Commission issued notices to Delhi Police demanding details of the case.

The NDMC too has initiated disciplina­ry action against the school authoritie­s.

The girl was leaving school on Wednesday when the accused, Ram Ashray (37), allegedly took her to a pump room in the school premises and forced himself on her, police said.

He threatened the girl with dire consequenc­es if she told anyone about it, they. On reaching home, the girl’s mother found her bleeding from private parts and took her to a hospital where doctors informed them that she had been sexually assaulted.

Her parents approached police on Thursday, following which a case was registered.
