Decision on Assembly tenure likely next month

TRS Chief and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has speeded up political activity, further signs of early polls. CM KCR is holding a joint meeting with party MPs, MLAs and MLCs on August 17. There is speculation in TRS circles that CM KCR may decide on the dissolution of the assembly on September 24 as 6 (2+4) is his lucky number.
Sources close to CM KCR said that TS assembly elections may be held in December 2018 along with Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh. To make way for elections in December, CM KCR is likely to dissolve the assembly in September. The TS assembly session is due at the end of September but the CM may hold the assembly session in the first week of September.
Meanwhile at the August 17 meeting, CM KCR may reveal the latest survey report on the performance of MLAs and MPs. CM KCR will warn those MLAs whose performance is not good, to work hard and improve the winning chances in the coming elections.
At the TRS legislative party meeting on Monday, CM KCR told the MLAs to work as if the elections were in the next 15 days.
CM KCR is announcing a series of schemes to woo several sections of the society keeping in view the coming elections. CM KCR also said that the party candidates would be announced in September.
Meanwhile CM KCR is planning to hold a huge public meeting in September near the outer ring road.
A venue near ORR has been chosen to avoid parking problems and to see that traffic in the city was not affected.
TRS sources said that they were identifying land near ORR to hold the meeting. People from all districts will attend.
