KCR meets BJP MLAs, sparks speculatio­n

BJP rejects political hue, says it sought nod for Atal statue

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasek­har Rao held a meeting with BJP MLAs at Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday, soon after his return from the national capital.

After completing his fourday visit to Delhi, Mr Rao reached Hyderabad on Monday night. In Delhi, the CM met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Union Ministers. In the wake of speculatio­ns on early elections and secret ties between the TRS and the BJP, the CM’s meeting with the BJP MLAs takes on political significan­ce.

Speaking to the media, Telangana BJP president and MLA K Laxman along with party MLAs said that they had discussed with CM KCR for about 15 minutes. They had requested to install Vajpayee’s statue for his services to Hyderabad city when he was Prime Minister. He said that the CM had responded positively. He said there were no political discussion­s in the meeting.
