Maisaram govt college lacks space to start new courses

Ten years have passed but the government is no where seem to be interested in providing proper accommodation to the students of Government Junior College for Girls, Maisaram. The college was started in 2008 and continues to offer only one course CEC for its students.

While thousands of students have been deprived of proper educational facility at the college sanctioned to improve the percentage of literacy among women in the older parts of the city, many more fail do serve the purpose owing to shortage of infrastructure.

Only one course, CEC, is available here as authorities expressed their helplessness to offer more courses for want of rooms to house laboratories and library,” said Abdul Fahaad, a local social activist.

The principal of the institution said that the college was granted permission to start BPC, MPC and a few vocational courses, but it it could not do so for the past eight years for the want of space. Talha Kaseri, a local leader, said, “How can the higher officials be so irresponsible? The responsibility should be assigned to someone, and action should be initiated.”

Every year, girls from Shaheennagar, Bandlaguda, Ghousenagar, Errakunta, Pahadishareef and Chandrayangutta approach the college for admission. “They are only admitting CEC students. They ask others to go to Falaknuma College,” said a student.
