Former Deputy CM Damodar Raja Narasimha left the congress seniors meeting expressing angry on leadership In the run-up to the Assembly elections, senior Congress leaders have started expressing dissatisfa­ction with the party leadership. In the short span of three days, two senior leaders have resigned from their posts as convenors of the TPCC Bus Yatra.

Telangana CLP deputy leader and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Tuesday resigned from the TPCC Bus Yatra committee convenor’s post. Two days ago former MLA Alleti Maheswar Reddy also resigned from the TPCC Bus Yatra Committee convenor’s post. According to sources, both were disappoint­ed that the party did not recognise their services and denied them key AICC posts.

Four days ago, the party high command appointed MLA Challa Vamshi Chand Reddy as the AICC secretary, a post Mr Maheswar Reddy was eyeing.

Recently, MLA Sampath Kumar was appointed as another AICC Secretary. Both Mr Vamshi and Mr Sampath belong to the Mahabubnag­ar (old) district. Mr Maheswar Reddy expressed displeasur­e over appointing two AICC Secretarie­s from one district. He said that he would continue in the party and would work hard to win more assembly seats in North Telangana districts. He also expressed dissatisfa­ction that the leadership was not taking steps to strengthen the Congress in North Telangana where the recent visit by AICC president Rahul Gandhi had created a tempo.

Meanwhile, former deputy chief minister Damodar Raja Narasimha vent his ire on the party leadership in a meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday for not supporting him in his fight against TRS over the Kaleswaram Project.
