The associations will give a memorandum to the Union human resource development ministry and to the Prime Minister’s Office regarding the non-implementation of the central fee regulation Act.

The gathering started on Sept. 15.

Parents associations from more than 14 states have gathered in the national capital to give nationwide representation to their memorandum seeking a cap on school fees. The associations will give a memorandum to the Union human resource development ministry and to the Prime Minister’s Office regarding the non-implementation of the central fee regulation Act.

The association will also demand full-fledged implementation of the Right to Education Act. The national gathering started on September 15 and would conclude on September 18.

A representative from a parents association stated: “The main agenda of this national meeting is to make the Central government realise the gravity of our issues and take substantial action on the fee regulation.”

On Sunday, the a representative of the Hyderabad Parents Association went to Delhi and made a presentation on the fee situation in schools in the Telangana capital. The state has seen several instances of children being punished for fee not being paid. A committee set up by the state government has failed to give relief on the fee front.

It was decided that, after three days of discussions and deliberations among the associations, they would give a memorandum to the government asking it to improve the education system and regulate the ever-increasing fee structures in private schools. If not, the effect would be felt by the ruling party during the upcoming elections.

Parent associations have decided to start a campaign on social media to highlight their demands.
