After taking `1.5 lakh, 20 tola gold and a flat worth `50 lakh, which was initially in his wife’s name, Siraj picked a fight with his wife and in-laws to change the registration of the flat in his name. Later, in a fit of rage, he killed her brutally, the Jubilee Hills police said.

According to the police, Siraj, who works as a welder in Sanath Nagar, married Haseena, 19, from Sri Krishna Nagar oneand-a-half-year back.

“On August 18, Siraj beat up his wife and sent her away from the house. Haseena went to her father, Aslam Khan’s place along with her four-month-old baby boy.
