TRS slams TJAC for Cong, TD link

- L. VENKAT RAM REDDY | DC

Caretaker ministers K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao on Monday slammed TJAC chief Prof. Kodandaram for joining hands with ‘anti-Telangana parties’ the Congress and the TD. Mr Rama Rao said that Prof. Kodandaram, who had been talking about the aspirations of Telan-gana martyrs, should explain how he joined hands with those who were responsible for making them martyrs.

“Did Telangana martyrs tell Kodandaram to enter into a poll alliance with the Congress and the TD? How can he justify joining hands with parties which have a history of working against the interests of Telangana and obstructing the formation of Telangana state, and killing thousands of youth who took part in the statehood agitation,” Mr Rama Rao said.

He also demanded that Prof. Kodandaram explain his tie-up with TD chief and AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu, who wrote 30 letters to the Centre against Kaleshwaram and Palamur-RR projects, which are the lifeline of Telangana.

Mr Rama Rao said if the grand alliance came to power in Telangana by chance, then the people of Telangana would have to remain as slaves to Amaravati rulers. “The time has come for people of Telangana to decide whether they want to remain as slaves before Delhi (Congress) and Amaravati (AP) rulers or live with self-respect and pride by opting for a true Telangana party TRS,” he said.

Mr Harish Rao said the Congress had stooped to such a level to secure power that it was extending a friendly hand to an “Andhra party” like the TD, which was antiTelangana.
