Congress poll panels not satisfied with TJS

- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, SEPT. 26

The Election Strategy and Planning Committee of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee met at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Wednesday to discuss issues regarding the upcoming assembly elections in the state. The session was chaired by V Hanumantha Rao.

It came as a shock that the committee expressed dissatisfaction at the alliance with the Telangana Jana Samiti led by Mr M. Kodandaram. The strategy committee felt that the TJS was demanding too many seats, even though it does not have a proper cadre in any of the constituencies in the state. The strategy committee felt that the alliance with the TJS is not a

great idea. The strategy committee also decided to urge the Election Commission to use ballots instead of electronic voting machines (EVM).

The committte is planning to organise a huge public meeting in the parade grounds to be addressed by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

The issue of alliances was raised by Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy who

said that due to the alliance with the CPI in Khammam in 2014, the Congress had lost one Parliamentary constituency and three Assembly constituencies.

Strategy committee cochairmen Sarvey Satyanarayana, Madhu Yashki, and Sridhar Babu, and convener Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy were among those who attended the meeting.
