Sitting, former MPs eye ministership
Some sitting MPs and former MPs are expressing interest to contest for the Assembly elections with the hope that they will become ministers if the party they chose comes to power in the state.
While some TRS MPs are using their political clout at Delhi to angle for the party tickets, others are eying the Opposition parties after being refused the ticket from their own party.
A case in point is that of sitting Peddapalli MP Balka Suman who has been given the nod to contest from Chennur Assembly constituency.

Godam Nagesh is also keen to contest from Boath but he was denied the TRS ticket, the party having opted for sitting MLA Rathod Bapurao.
Rumours are doing rounds in political circles that Mr Nagesh has still not lost hopes and doing his best to get the
ticket. He had earlier served as tribal welfare minister in the TD regime. His father, late Godam Ramarao, too had held the same post.
It’s learnt he is exploring his options, angling to get the ticket from a national party to contest for the Boath Assembly constituency.
Adivasi leader and Thudum Debba state president Soyam Bapurao is keen to get the Congress ticket for Boath constituency. Former MP Ramesh Rathod, who first joined the TRS from the TD now joined the Congress from the TRS after being denied party ticket from Khanapur.
Mr Rathod has made it clear that he was more interested in the
Khanapur Assembly constituency than the Adilabad Lok Sabha seat.
Mr Rathod said he wanted to contest for the Khanapur seat as he wanted to serve the people of the constituency.
Caretaker minister Jogu Ramanna was elected to the Assembly years after Mr Rathod was. In the changed political scenario, Mr Ramanna quit the TD and joined the TRS and was inducted in the Telangana’s first Cabinet. However, Mr Rathod, who held many positions such as MLA, MP and Zilla Parishad chairman, could not become a minister.
