KONDA COUPLE MEETS RAHUL, JOINS CONGRESS

- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, SEPT. 26

Former TRS MLA and ex-Minister Konda Surekha and her husband and MLC Konda Murali joined the Congress in New Delhi on Wednesday in the presence of All India Congress Committee president Rahul Gandhi.

Mr Gandhi welcomed them into the party and expressed confidence that the party would be strengthened in Warangal district.

Speaking to media persons, Ms Konda Surekha said, “We will show our strength to the TRS, which had invited us to their party and took our help to form the government. As the TRS did nothing for the past four years, they thought that we would start questioning them and decided not to allot tickets for us. We will show our strength in Warangal district, and help the Congress form the government after the polls.”

She also accused TRS leaders of badmouthing them saying, “We never asked for two or three tickets. We have joined the Congress unconditionally.”

MLC Konda Murali said, “Due to certain reasons, we left the Congress but are happy to rejoin. Since the past one year, we have faced a lot of troubles in the TRS. They (K. Chandrasekhar Rao and son) have done nothing for the people. They have done everything for their own family.”

TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “They are Congress leaders and had left the party because of some reasons and have rejoined now. We are very happy.”
