YOUTH DIES AFTER TEACHER GIVES HIM MEDICINE

-

A 25-year-old man died, minutes after he was given wrong medication by a government teacher, who is the husband of a Registered Medical Practitioner under Yacharam police station limits on Tuesday. The family members and villagers staged a protest in front of the house of the accused, demanding justice.

The incident took place at Mall village in Yacharam mandal when Rapolu Ravi Kumar, 25, a resident of Venkateshwara Nagar, visited the house of RMP Narmada to get treatment for his illhealth.

Yacharam inspector M. Madhu Kumar said that Ravi, a stone worker, was suffering from severe body pains for the last few days. On Tuesday morning, he had been to Narmada's house but she was not present. Her husband, Narsimha, a government teacher at a Zilla Parishad High School in Ibrahimpatnam mandal, asked Ravi about his problem and offered treatment.

"Narsimha gave a tonic to Ravi to consume and also gave an unknown injection to him, saying that he would be cured of his pains soon. While returning home, Ravi felt giddy and on reaching home he informed his family members about it. Within no time he collapsed and became unconscious. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Ibrahimpatnam, where he was declared brought dead,” the inspector said.

“A case will be registered against the teacher Narsimha for causing death due to the negligence. The accused has been suggesting medication for patients for a long time in his wife's absence. A detailed probe will be done and the body will be sent to Ibrahimpatnam government hospital for the autopsy,” he said.
