- DC CORRESPONDENT

State Congress president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy hit back at caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao during the party’s campaign opener in Gadwal on Thursday evening.

Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “The TRS and KCR have cheated all sections of people. Mr KCR should answer whether he has cheated the people or not.”

He said Mr Rao had promised to make a Dalit the Chief Minister but had cheated the community. “KCR promised 12 per cent reservations to Muslims and tribals and cheated them.” The people who have waited for double bedroom houses were betrayed by the government.

He said the Congress was ready for a loan waiver of `2 lakh at one go. Social welfare pensions would doubled for all beneficiaries, listing out the agenda of the Congress. “Soon after the Congress forms government, we will start the process of filling one lakh jobs. He said Mr Rao and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were working together. “The plan of KCR is to go along with Modi during the Parliament elections,” Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy said.

Earlier, the Congress has began its election campaign from Alampur in Jogulamba Gadwal district. Addressing people at Alampur Mr Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said, “We will go to all the constituencies and make people aware of the irregularities of the TRS government. The TRS has insulted the people by destroying their dreams.” Addressing state government employees and pensions, Mr Vikramarka said, the Congress would always support the employees and will fight against the Pension Scheme.

Star campaigner Vijayashanthi also targeted Mr Chandrasekhar Rao.

“Our lives are left at the feet of the rulers even after achieving statehood. I remember my own movie Ramulamma, in which the rulers treated the people as slaves,” she said.
