A 25-year-old graduate working as a labourer has been booked on charges of misbehaving with a 13-year-old girl from his neighbourhood in KPHB.

The accused threatened the girl with dire consequences if she failed to accept his proposal within 10 days, said the police.

According to KPHB police, the victim along with her elder sister and mother was living at Hydernagar in KPHB Colony.

The girl was studying Class VII at Zilla Parishad High School in KPHB.

One M. Nithin, who lived in the victim’s neighbourhood, was following her every day to school and while returning home.

He used to harass the girl to accept his proposal and began threatening her to respond positively within 10 days.

On Saturday night, when the girl was at home, Nithin went there and picked up a quarrel with her. When the girl’s neighbour intervened, Nithin abused and beat her, and also beat the girl’s mother, said the police.

The police said that based on the complaint lodged by the girl’s mother, a case has been registered against accused Nithin under Sections 509, 506, 290 and 323 of IPC and also under section 12 of POCSO Act, and a search was on to nab the accused. Following a heated argument with her jeweller husband, a woman poured hot oil on him during the early hours on Sunday.

The victim Kumar Chowdary, 32, received 45 per cent burns to his stomach and limbs and is stated to be out of danger, said the Kukatpally police.

Kukatpally sub-inspector P. Narayan Singh said Kumar Chowdary and his wife Premdevi were living at Bagh Ameer in Kukatpally. Premdevi is a housewife.

“On Saturday night, the couple had a fight over some disputes and went to sleep. At about 5 am, Premdevi boiled cooking oil and poured it on her husband’s body,” said the SI.

He said that the doctors opined that currently, his health condition is stable. A case has been registered against Premdevi under Section 307 of IPC and took her into custody for the questioning.
