Residents of Vasavinagar Colony are planning to go on a “no tax campaign” if their civic issues are not resolved.

They said that despite paying all taxes, the colony, the largest in Secunderabad Cantonment with more than 3,000 people, was being deprived of basic amenities.

Officials said the water problem was caused by a pipeline breakage in Mahendra Hills.

Adding to existing woes, there are lot of pending works in the colony. Drainage pipelines have been lying alongside roads for more than four months, according to the residents. Locals wanted the pipes removed as they were occupying road space.

SCB vice-president, J. Rama Krishna said the election code was in place, and officials could not take up work now. Regarding the water supply, he said they were working on providing alternate day supply.
