FLYOVER WOULD EASE TRAFFIC AT CHANDRAYANGUTTA

- ATHER MOIN I DC

HYDERABAD, OCT. 28

The extension of the Chandrayangutta flyover and construction of a parallel road overbridge at Falaknuma will solve the problem of traffic congestion on the Chandrayangutta main road.

The GHMC is all set to start work to extend the Chandrayangutta flyover up to 500 metres as part of a plan to solve the problem of traffic congestion on the Chandrayanguta main road.

Apart from this, the construction of a parallel road overbridge at Falaknuma would solve the traffic problem in the area, it is said. The flyover is being extended by dismantling the existing 14-150 metre strip of solid ramp at an estimated cost of `37 crore as a part of Phase-II of Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP).

After the construction of the Kandikal Gate ROB, traffic flow between Lal Darwaza and Barkas had increased immensely. This was causing hurdles to the traffic flow at the chowrasta and hampering the purpose of the flyover.

The extension of the four-lane flyover has become necessary to ease the traffic flow at the Kandikal Gate-Barkas Road Junction.

The GHMC also proposes to widen the main Kanchanbagh-Bandlaguda road.

Traffic between Kanchanbagh and Bandlaguda will flow smoothly after the flyover work is completed.

Likewise, the GHMC is constructing a parallel road overbridge to the existing structure at Falaknuma with an estimate cost of `47.10 crore.

Once the parallel overbridge is constructed, traffic flow towards Barkas from Charminar will face fewer problems.
