Revanth shares tripled in 4 yrs

TS Congress working president Anumula Revanth Reddy has shown a huge increase in assets but did not list the recent income-tax case on him in the affidavit that he filed along with his nomination papers for the Kodangal Assembly constituen­cy on Monday.

Mr Revanth Reddy, 51, said he had purchased several properties since the 2014 elections. His immovable assets grew from `4.44 crore in 2014 to `7. 79 crore now, a hike of `3.48 crore.

According to his affidavit, he had recently purchased properties including prime land in Serilingam­pally.

His investment­s and shares (movable assets) tripled from `51 lakh to `1.75 crore in just four years.

Mr Revanth Reddy identified himself as an agricultur­alist and said he was facing 36 criminal cases, a few of them serious in nature.

He listed the cash-forvote scam in which he is a prime accused.

Mr Revanth Reddy was recently booked by the income-tax department for alleged tax evasion and questioned about ghost companies that were linked to Sri Sai Mourya Estates and Projects in which he and his family members are directors, but did not list the case his affidavit.

Mr Revanth Reddy’s wife Geetha Reddy, who was questioned by income-tax officials regarding the jewellery stored in bank lockers, owns more properties than him. Her total immovable assets were valued at `9.44 crore.
