Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that people were not allowing TRS legislators to enter their towns during the campaign for the election campaign.

Speaking to party leaders via a teleconference here on Wednesday, Mr Naidu said this was happening because of the mistakes that the TRS had committed.

He said TD MLAs should learn a lesson from such incidents of legislators being blocked from villages, and be accessible to the public. Mr Naidu said he was confident that due to the development that the TD government had made possible in the state, the TD MLAs would not face such a situation in Andhra Pradesh.

Mr Naidu said that by Tuesday evening, the party membership had gone up to 16,21,739 and about 81,000 new members were being enrolled every day. He said Kuppam topped among the constituencies with a 74 per cent increase in memberships.

The TD supremo said that booth conveners and coordinators had to be appointed, and local leaders should take up the responsibility for it. The party had appointed 39,585 booth conveners and needed another 6,075. Training for 87 per cent of booth conveners had been completed.

He said that due to continuous wrongdoing, the BJP’s downfall at the Centre had begun. He said the BJP had made the CBI “a collection centre”.
