Former top cop’s son dies in a mysterious manner

The decomposed body of the son of ex-IPS officer M.L.M. Reddy and relative of former DGP Dinesh Reddy was found in Banjara Hills on Wednesday.

According to Banjara Hills ACP K. Srinivasa Rao, the man, identified as M. Harihar Reddy, 52, was found dead at his residence in Road No. 5 Banjara Hills. “He seems to have locked himself up at his residence, and inquiry reveals that he died three-four days back,” said the official.

“The neighbours, who noticed a foul smell and did not see Reddy around called his brother Rahul, who reached the house on Wednesday morning, broke open the door locked from inside and found his decomposed body. He had reportedly told his neighbour that he experience­s chest pains and we suspect that he died due to a heart attack, as there were no visible injuries on his body and no suicide note was found at the scene,” said the police inspector, adding that an autopsy will reveal further the cause of death.

Sources said that parts of his body were meddled with by his pet dog.

Based on a complaint, a case was booked under Section 174 (suspicious death) of CrPC and the body was shifted for postmortem examinatio­n.
