Much to the company’s relief, Samsung seems to have fixed the issues that forced the company to postpone the launch of its $2,000 foldable phone, say reports.

According to the South Korean news agency Yonhap, Samsung, which now plans to release the redesigned smartphone next month, is testing the model with three operators in its home market.

The report went on to state that the firm has come up with two solutions to fix the issues with the Galaxy Fold’s display.

In a bid to make it hard for normal users to peel off the protective shield — which reviewers had mistakenly thought as screen cover, the company pushed the shield beneath the frame.

The second fix, which addresses the flaw pointed out by iFixit in its teardown, is a design revamp. In its attempt to reduce the gap between the screen and the hinge, Samsung had to make changes to its design to reduce the chances of dust and debris getting behind the screen.

The foldable phone, Samsung Galaxy Fold, was first announced the company’s high-profile Unpacked 2019 event in San Francisco in February.

The $1,980 Galaxy Fold transforms into a 7.3inch tablet from a phone when folded.

The ambitious smartphone features six cameras, two large batteries and a Snapdragon 855 processor.

While the device was never intended to be a commercial success, many hoped the Galaxy Fold would bring some sort of innovation back in the market.

But reviewers and journalists quickly found issues with the Galaxy Fold. Several reviewers reported the Galaxy Fold units dying within a few hours of usage.

The delay has been seen as a huge setback for Samsung.
