The Governor was interacting with vice-chancellors during a conference of TS universities being held at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Open University in the city.

Dr Soundarrajan felt that universities must encourage “research and development” activities and prepare a “data bank” of research papers and activities being undertaken by each university.

The Governor stressed the need to develop job-oriented courses and also undertake improvements in making the teaching-learning process more interesting and stressfree for students.

Dr Soundarrajan also exhorted universities to expedite the provision of study opportunities to NRIs so as to tap the large revenue potential to meet growth plans.

The Governor appreciated the achievement of the statehood of Telangana and the progress made in the field of higher education.
