REVENUE STAFF SUPPORT RTC WORKERS’ STIR
In a major boost to the ongoing stir of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation staff, the Telangana Revenue Employees Association on Sunday announced their support to the strike.
Telangana Deputy Collectors Association president V. Latchireddy, Telangana Village Revenue Officers Association leaders S. Ramulu, G. Upender Rao, N. Lakshmi Narayana, Ravi Nayak, and V. Ramulu were speaking at the condolence meeting in the city on the suicide of RTC driver Srinivas Reddy.
The association leaders said that the state government has to change the anti-employees attitude and have talks with the employees’ leaders to solve their demands.
They said that they would certainly foil the conspiracy to eliminate the revenue system in the state and they would also go for the strike for their demands in the coming days.
They said that there was no head of the revenue department in the state and the revenue portfolio was with the chief minister and he did not give an appointment to the revenue employees to discuss their problems.
The leaders reminded that it was the revenue staff of the state who had issued 58 lakhs pattadar passbooks during the rectification of the records drive taken up by the government.
They said that due to the work burden several revenue employees had lost their lives in the state while discharging their duties, but the state government was acting against the revenue staff with a vindictive attitude.
Meanwhile, the Telangana NGOs Association on Sunday accused the RTC JAC of launching strike without consulting it.
K. Ravinder Reddy, convenor of the TNGOs, found fault with the RTC unions and other employees unions for criticising them for meeting Chief Minister Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao. He said that they are ready to hold talks with the RTC JAC leaders about their demands and if they consult them they will meet the chief minister with a request to solve the issues of the RTC staff.
