Hunt on to nab rapist father

The Shabad police are on the hunt of a man, who went absconding from his house in Munugur village allegedly raping his 14year-old daughter on Saturday night.

Following a complaint from the girl’s mother, the police registered a case against her father and are searching for him.

THE POLICE has registered a case against the accused father on the charges of rape and also under relevant sections of the Pocso Act allegedly raped his daughter, a Class VIII student, when her mother was away on work.

When the girl’s mother returned, she saw her daughter crying and enquired to only find about the horrifying act of her husband, who went absconding after the offence. The woman immediatel­y alerted the Shabad police and lodged a complaint with them.

The police have registered a case against the accused on charges of rape and also under relevant sections of the Pocso Act and have taken up the investigat­ion. The girl was further sent for medical examinatio­n at a government hospital.

Shabad inspector G Narsaiah said: “The victim’s mother lodged the complaint alleging rape of her daughter by the husband. Subsequent­ly, a case was registered on Sunday night. The accused is currently on the run and a team of police is on the job to nab him.”
