DRUNK BITES THUMB OF CONSTABLE

In a bizarre incident, a man, who came to the police station in an inebriated condition, bit the thumb of a constable. The incident, which shocked the police administra­tion, occurred in One Town police station at 2 am here on Monday. The person, identified as Dumrothu Mastan, was taken into custody for interrogat­ion.

According to details, Mastan, who clashed with his friends after boozing, went to the police station along with friends and forced Mansoor Ali, a constable on night duty, to take a complaint.

Noticing his condition, the constable asked him to come in the morning. Other police personnel also advised him to come the next day and left.

However, Mastan continued to argue with Mansoor Ali and insisted that he take the complaint against those who had humiliated him while they were drinking.

In a fit of rage, Mastan bit the left thigh of the cop and later his thumb and almost immediatel­y, he fled.

With an inch of his thumb cut-off, Mansoor Ali was shifted to KIMS Hospital for treatment. Mastan was arrested in the morning and interrogat­ed.

A case was filed against him under Section 333 and 566 of the Indian Penal Code.
