- DC CORRESPONDENT

Immediate action is being demanded by nurses against the principal of Kamareddy government residential school for sexually harassing a nurse on duty. Nursing Officers Association on Tuesday was inundated with nurses demanding that the government must take action against the principal of the school and also the nurses must be granted protection in these residential schools.

A meeting was also held by NOA asking government to act on the FIR and arrest the principal. An FIR was registered on Monday by the police in Kamareddy district against the principal of government residential school on the complaint of the nurse.

and check on their physical health. The nurses have also been assigned the task of preventive health which is imparted through educational programs.

Mr Lakshman Rudawat, general secretary of the NOA said, “The nurse was very strong to come out and register an FIR. There are many of them who silently suffer as they do not want their families to suffer. This case is only a tip of the iceberg. The government must support us and strong action must be taken.”

With 2020 being the year of nurses and paramedical staff there is anger in the nursing community that their problems are increasing at the work level rather than getting resolved.
