Hyerabadis wish Trump visits city

Hyderabadis want President Donald Trump to taste Hyderabadi Biryani in the Old City. Requests are rife on social media for the President to visit the city and taste the city’s flavour.

There are also the usual tongue-in-cheek requests for him to visit the city so that the pothole ridden roads would at last be fixed, since it is the invariable practice of state governments to wake up and refurbish civic infrastructure to impress visiting dignitaries.

One Naresh Tota tweeted, “Hello! I request @Trump to taste Hyderabad biryani during his stay in India.”

Some have even generously offered to get the biryani to wherever Trump is in case ‘time constraints’make it impossible for him to visit the city.

When the President’s daughter Ivanka came to the city in 2017 for a summit, the city’s roads were re-carpeted along the entire route she passed through and residents are begging the President to visit their locality so that the same may be repeated: “Inviting World Supreme leader #DonaldTrump and entourage to my residence in Surya Nagar Enclave #safilguda #Hyderabad #Telangana.

Please accept sir, then at least #ghmc will meet our colony roads repair demands,” tweeted another twitter handle. Another netizen hilariously suggested that even the presidential airplane passing over the city would do much good.

“Can’t agree more! President Trump @realDonaldTrump if not a visit, Just let your aircraft fly over Hyderabad.

I am confident that our government will make all roads look like Washington DC,” tweeted Robin Zaccheus.
