City man nabbed for aiding Bahrain rapist

He introduced 25-yr-old victim to 60-yr-old accused

A 47-year-old Mohd Saber, who lured the 25year-old rape survivor under the guise of buying home and introduced her to the 60-year-old Bahrain national, was arrested by the Chandrayangutta police on Wednesday.

The 60-year-old Bahrain national had raped the victim and also branded her with cigarettes during his attempt to incarcerate her.

According to the Chandrayangutta police, on October 21, Ebrahim Shukralla Mohamed Bairam, 60, a retired nurse from Bahrain, came to the city and checked-in at a hotel in

Nampally. Ebrahim contacted Saber, a resident of Nabeel Colony, to arrange a woman for marriage.

About a week ago, he moved to Barkas area, located in the old part of the city, and took shelter in the house of Salam Bin Sayed Bafanna, who works as a salesman. Saber and his wife Sameena, who were acquainted with the family of the victim, 25, and her elder sister Naifsa (name changed), 30, contacted them and asked them to visit his house, as a person wanted to purchase their house.

The police said that on February 25, Nafisa and her sister went to Saber’s house, where he introduced them to Ebrahim, who put a proposal to marry one of the siblings. However, they rejected his proposal.

The same day, Saber’s wife Sameena called the younger woman and asked her to visit their house, and took her to Ebrahim.

As her sister did not turn up till late in the night, a worried Nafisa contacted Saber, but he denied knowing the whereabouts of the victim.

“On Sunday, Nafisa found that her sister was illegally confined at a house in Barkas. When she went there, Ebrahim was also present in the house. Learning that her sister was illegally confined by Ebrahim, who raped her multiple times, and also branded her on the foot with a cigarette, when she restrained him, Nafisa lodged a complaint on Sunday night,” said Chandrayangutta inspector Rudra Bhasker.

Mr Bhaskar said that Ebrahim and Salman were arrested on Monday.
